As the world’s demand for energy continues to rise, there is a heightened need in the US for domestic supplies that are environmentally responsible, reliable and secure. Liberty Green Renewables, LLC (“LGR “) seeks to develop and build biomass-to-electricity generating facilities to serve long-term utility supply needs and are located within woody biomass resource centers. The United States is at the crossroads of a huge renewable market expansion and the need for a different renewable technology. Biomass power provides a cost competitive alternative to fossil fuel-fired plants, as well as other renewable energy technologies such as wind and solar. Increasing the use of biomass in the United States will reduce air pollution, greenhouse gases and reliance on imported sources of energy.
Our insight into the industry gives us an edge in creating facilities that respect the environment while simultaneously creating jobs and producing energy for the future. Since the fuel for biomass plants is produced locally, states using biomass can create sustainable jobs in local communities that improve the quality of life for all.
A tremendous demand for renewable power generation fueled by woody biomass is imminent as renewable portfolio additions ramp up in the Midwest and Southeast US. Woody biomass generation is the most compelling technology answer for the Midwest and Southeast regions, which comprise over 60% of the US electricity demand. Abundant wood-waste fuel resources and relatively unfavorable wind and solar conditions give woody biomass generation a commanding cost and product position.
